Swing Flip Card

Is everyone else as excited for the long weekend here in Canada as I am?  It is Canada day on Sunday and we get Monday off.  I will be sure to be stamping at some point over the weekend, but hopefully the weather is good and I will be out with some friends that day and watching the fireworks at night!

My card for today uses some retired DSP again (you saw this particular set earlier this week).   But, I have used a new stamp set that you can buy (or get through the Stampin' Up hostess program - contact me if you would like more information).

Last weekend I went to a workshop regarding business ideas.  It was a fantastic event and very informative.  On top of that though, we made some wonderful projects.  We were all encouraged to bring some of our recent projects to share.  I noticed a card that used the technique below (side spring card) and had to find out how to make it (see http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/news/comments.php?id=1328_0_1_0_C for the instructions).  It's a really nice card and as I was making it, I thought to myself, this could be quite useful when I am doing wedding stationery.  I was thinking along the lines of a place card with the menu written on the back.  The diamond shape could have the bride and groom's monogram on it or a graphic that represents the wedding.  I digress...  Take a peak below, and if you want to give this a try, please see the instructions in the link above.  My one word of caution is to pay instruction to step 4 (I may have not read it carefully and ended up with a card that just wouldn't fold and made me feel like I was dealing with a rubik's cube again!).

Products used:
*Riding hood red card stock (111348)
*Four seasons stamp set (this is a hostess set!  Email me to find out how you can earn it.  W126830 / C126832)

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  And for those in Canada celebrating our national day this weekend - Go Canada Go!!!!

Monsters

It was recently one of my goddaughter's birthday.  She turned 3 and I'm not to sure where the time has gone! She's a bit of a tomboy and so I decided to make the card below.  I read something about Hallowe'en today and I think the colours reflect this (they scream that holiday to me!).

Products used:

*Make a monster stamp set (W118742 / C120606)
*Gumball green card stock (126840)
*Tangerine tango card stock (126946)
*Elegant eggplant card stock (105126)
*Summer smooches DSP (125409)

I hope you're having a great week!

Clean & Simple Layout

Lately I've been in the mood to work on some cards that help me use up some of my retired DSP.  Sadly, I have rather a lot of it.  But it is my mission not to hoard these things!  I turned to Clean & Simple Stamping (http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.ca/) which is a website that sets layouts as challenges.  As you might guess, they're clean and simple.  I deviated a bit from the layout this week, but only because I was going from memory instead of having the picture in front of me!

Products used:

*Crumb cake card stock (120953)
*Crumb cake 1/2" seam binding (122332)
*Wacky wishes stamp set (this is a hostess set W126410 / C126412)

If you have any questions or would like to order any of the products, please send me an email.

Have a great week!!
